At first glance-- I didnt love this picture-- as I wondered why I found myself trailing off into a long imagintive story of what is going on here.. This can actually be quite symbolic. It appears to be a soldier of some kind, about ready to go into a fight. The light coming from out the door showing half of her face may symbolize her obligation to fight for whatever it is that she committed herself to fighting for. The other half of her face, which is cloaked in darkness along with her weapon, showing her growing apprehension about what she is going to do.. this half of her is just a small little girl that wants to get away from it all and go hide in a corner... The fact that she is leaning back in towards the darkness may show that she has not completely come to terms with what she is about to do, her conscience is still bugging her. The sharp contrast helps the photo as I think it shows the immenence of her decision to either fight or not-- it's either black or white-- no gray areas--- ok , i know, my imagination is running wild here.. she actually kinda looks like shes going to play paintball-- but thats the story running thru my head--- great shot, i really do love it! :D (Big Grin)
